BMW EDC16 Multimap
APS Mapswitch adds 3 switchable engine maps to your BMW diesel ECU. The switching code is integrated directly into the ECU firmware – no extra hardware, no piggyback box. Each configuration can be edited independently in WinOLS, by you or your tuner.

> maps of your choice cloned
Due to limited flash memory, not the complete calibration but a selected set of maps
is cloned per configuration – the maps you request, or by default:
- Driver's Wish
- Torque limiters
- Torque to injection quantity (Nm/IQ)
- Start of injection (SOI)
- Boost pressure
Typical vehicles: E46 3 Series, early E83 X3, early E60 with M47N / M57N diesel engines.

×Bosch EDC17 (DDE7 and newer, F-series)
How to switch maps
Cruise control stalk
Step through the maps with the factory cruise control buttons.
The selected map is briefly shown on the tachometer, then the needle
returns to the real engine speed.
Map 1 = 1000 rpm
Map 2 = 2000 rpm
Map 3 = 3000 rpm
APS Mapswitch Android app
Switch maps from your phone with a standard ELM327 Bluetooth adapter
plugged into the OBD port. The app shows the active map live and can read
and clear fault codes. Works on D-CAN and K-Line cars.

- The ECU always starts on Map 1 after ignition on
- The modified software is locked to your vehicle
- Cruise stalk switching remains available alongside the app
Writing the file
> Initial installation: bench / BDM only.
The mapswitch software must be written to the ECU on the bench or via BDM. OBD writing is not possible for the first installation.
The mapswitch software must be written to the ECU on the bench or via BDM. OBD writing is not possible for the first installation.
After installation, only Map 1 can be updated via OBD with standard
calibration flashers. Maps 2 and 3 are stored in memory areas that calibration flashers
do not write, so changes to them always require a bench / BDM write.
